ARIA’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) offers a bridge between our PHP and Outpatient.

If you or someone you care about has been battling a substance use problem, you are likely aware of the wide range of treatment programs available. Many addiction treatment centers, including the Addiction Recovery Institute of America, offer a full spectrum of care, from medically supervised detox and residential care to outpatient programs and aftercare. With so many options, choosing the right treatment plan can be overwhelming. At ARIA, one of our most important and successful offerings is our Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program (IOP), which provides comprehensive care while allowing clients to maintain their daily responsibilities.

This program is ideal for clients who are ready for more freedom than what a residential treatment program offers but who will benefit from the structure and support that the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) provides. Our IOP offers a highly structured environment with the flexibility needed to balance recovery with daily responsibilities. Through the intensive therapy sessions included in the program, you will work closely with addiction specialists and peers in recovery at the center, developing the healthy routines and coping skills needed to avoid relapse. At ARIA, our goal is simple: to provide you with the tools you need to achieve meaningful, lasting recovery from the damaging effects of drugs and alcohol through our IOP in Kentucky.

TELEHEALTH TREATMENT OPTIONS

ARIA offers optional telehealth treatment sessions for clients who are unable to attend in-person Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), Outpatient, or individual therapy sessions. Clients can choose to receive all of their treatment remotely or use this option when factors such as weather, illness, or other circumstances prevent them from attending in-person sessions. Call ARIA today for more information about our telehealth treatment options.

WHAT IS AN INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM?

In an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), clients receive a high level of care while living at home or in a sober living facility. Clients in an IOP can continue to work, attend school, and fulfill familial and social obligations while still receiving the treatment they need. Medically supervised detoxification and residential treatment are often excellent first steps on the road to recovery, especially for individuals with severe substance use issues or co-occurring mental health conditions. However, an IOP offers unique benefits for those who have already gone through detox and residential care or for individuals whose substance abuse is not severe enough to require around-the-clock supervision. If you’re wondering whether an IOP is the right level of care for you or someone you care about, a good place to start is by asking the following questions:

  • Does the client have a solid understanding of the stressors and triggers that could make them want to turn to drugs and alcohol? Do they understand the root causes of their addiction?
  • Have they already begun to develop the coping skills they need to handle these triggers and stressors?
  • Has the individual completed a detox program, a residential treatment program, or a partial hospitalization program?
  • Does the client have a supportive, structured home life that is conducive to recovery?
  • Have they developed a social support network outside of the addiction treatment center?
  • Does the individual have outside responsibilities that they must fulfill, like school, work, or childcare?

If you can answer “yes” to the above and if that profile describes your situation or that of a loved one, intensive outpatient treatment might be the right choice for you at our substance abuse treatment center.
